This is the how to make your own free greeting cards on free ecard!
Below is a short explaination how the free greeting cards service works.
The most important tools on free ecard are:
Background and Clipart,
The text tool,
The tool options (depends on the active tool),
The send card button,
And the arrow tool to activate an object
If you want to send your free greeting cards this is the button you'll have to press. A menu will open:
If you fill in this menu, the person who the card is for will get an e-mail from you with your name and e-mail address, and a link where to view the card.
If the reciever clicks the link, the site with your card will appear..
You can add an optional message that will appear only in the e-mail .
You are also able to add a sound to the ecard. Depending on the site of the file and your upload speed this may take a while, be patient.
We ask you kindly to limit the sound upload as much as possible or to use really small soundfiles, this is to keep the limited use of serverspace on free ecard managable.
The arrow pointing left is to undo your last action, the arrow pointing right is to redo the last undone action.
The scissors are to cut an object from your card, the second button is to copy an object, and the last button is to paste an object into your free ecard.
The first button turns the grid on and off, this may help you to align the objects in your ecard.
The second button adds a date to the free ecard (month/day/year).
These 3 buttons are used to add backgrounds and clipart. the first button is to choose a background.
The open background menu will appear, here you can select a category and then the background of your liking.
It's also possible toupload your own background, click on the upload button in the menu to to so.
When pressing the clipart (hart) button a similar window with categories where you can choose from will appear, again you cna insert your own photo with the upload button.
Maybe it is a good idea to scale and or crop your photo before you upload it to get better results.
The middle button, between loading the background and inserting clipart, is to stretch the background to your ecard format. It might be scaled in just one direction and can look funny.
This is the trashcan, if an object is active it will be deleted from your free card.
If nothing is active/selected it will delete all of the objects on your card..
These are the general options for the active tool and the size of your card.
If the text tool is active this part will change.
you're able to change the font, text color, text size, bold, underline or italic, alignment, etc
This tool is to activate an object, when dragging the small squares on the corner you can resize your clipart.

Activate the text tool, and the click on any section of your ecard where you want your text. Type your text before changing the type options.

Layer options, you'll need these when objects overlap. For example a text should be on top of an object in stead of (partial) underneath.
